The motif is the sunglasses worn by the main character in the 70’s movie “Taxi Driver”. The shape of the Japanese roof tiles of an early Showa-era building our design team happened to see is boldly used for the endpiece and temples.
The design source for the temples and acetate temple tips is historical American-made eyeglasses from the 60’s.
